Couples Therapy
Couples seek therapy for a variety of concerns, and I applaud them for continuing the investment in their relationship. I am trained in Gottman relationship therapy and have 6 years of experience working with couples. My goal is to start by getting to know the couple through an assessment period, and then navigate mutual goals to improve the connection between partners. Some common areas I find helpful to consider include communication, love and intimacy, shared dreams, conflict resolution, and how to process regrettable incidents.
Military couples face unique challenges, and therapy is tailored to fit this lifestyle when it presents. Topics for military couples may include deployments, reintegration, parenting, distance and stress management.

What you can expect
My couples therapy assessment is four sessions. First I meet with the couple together for introductions, gathering information and building a comfort in our fit. Secondly, I meet with each partner individually. This session allows for each person to share perspectives openly and articulate their needs for therapy. Lastly, I meet with the couple together to share my clinical opinions and we agree on goals for therapy. During this assessment time you may be asked to take assessments, do some personal journaling and reflect deeply on what your needs are. After the assessment period, therapy is offered at a cadence mutually agreed upon. On average I see couples for around six months to a year, but every couple is unique in their needs.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes, but at times I will offer a "marathon" session of 90 minutes to ensure we provide additional space or time as needed when specific topics arise.
Currently all couples services are offered as cash pay. I do not accept insurance for couples therapy at this time.
